This locus represents naturally occurring readthrough transcription between the neighboring PRH1 (proline-rich protein HaeIII subfamily 1) and TAS2R14 (taste receptor, type 2, member 14) genes on chromosome 12. The readthrough transcript encodes a fusion protein that shares sequence identity with each individual gene product. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2015]
